Seed Plant Manager

DURATION 40+ hours/week

PURPOSE/SCOPE

To act as the seed plant manager to Ohlde Seed Farms through improving, organizing, cleaning, packaging, shipping, and recording inventory of all of Ohlde Seed’s products. To work with a team to continue to provide and deliver high quality seed to Ohlde Seed customers.


RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate Seed Cleaning Facility

  • Operate and maintain the seed cleaning facility in an efficient and effective manner
  • Work with the seed plant team to create and carry-out the seed cleaning schedule to deliver the finished products
  • Assist when needed with hauling in the raw product and packaging out the final product
  • Operate the bagging line, the bulk bagging, and bulk boxing area
  • Maintain and track all inventory from the cleaning facility
  • Keep seed plant organized and have a professional appearance at all times

2. Operate Seed Treating Facility

  • Operate and maintain the seed treating facility in an efficient and effective manner
  • Calibrate and operate the seed treaters by setting them to apply the proper treatments for each customer’s needs
  • Work to deliver the treated seed products in a quick manner to customers
  • Assist when needed with the packaging of treated seed
  • Work with logistic coordinator on carrying-out the treated seed schedule
  • Maintain and track all inventory from the treating facility

3. Customer Service

  • Operate Forklifts when needed to assist customers
  • Load and unload customers trucks and trailers with a positive attitude
  • Deliver seed to customers when needed

4. Warehouse Organization

  • Keep warehouse organized and in a professional appearance at all times
  • Operate forklifts to stack away products and to load products appropriately
  • Inventory organized

PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING

2 year degree in Agronomy/Crop Production or equivalent experience


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Agricultural background or experience

  • Fabrication work– designing, building, and developing new concepts in the seed and treating facility to help improve seed quality and the customer experience
  • Lead the seed plant team
